Junior/Strong Junior AQA (Java) Engineer

Fintech project, the purpose of which is to create and maintain banking platforms. Users are bank employees, which is about 10,000. The platforms are used to serve clients of the bank who would like to invest their money in one of Canada’s largest banks.


  • Proficiency in Java programming language.
  • Experience in API testing using the RestAssured framework.
  • Capability in conducting code reviews.
  • Proficiency in manual testing methodologies and adeptness in test documentation.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) principles and experience with Jenkins.
  • Previous exposure to Agile methodologies.


Will be a plus:

  • Prior experience with JavaScript, familiarity with Node.js frameworks, and proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Experience in cross-browser testing would be advantageous.


You will be working on both manual and automation work to support the quality of the project. This includes: Working on the common sprint activities: 

  • Covering features assigned to you with test cases, using the common test management too
  • Testing new features after they pass the development phase 
  • Covering those features with automated tests Working on release activities(once every couple of months): 
  • Releases may require additional support, including manual application regression, running regression test suites, analyzing the reports, and providing feedback to the team. Possible night releases (not often). It usually takes 2-3 hours max.
  • Our team has a couple of applications developed and finished, but sometimes we do small updates/hotfixes for them. Those usually require change-related testing work, possibly full regression testing. Working on the shape of automation test suites: 
  • Analyzing daily reports 
  • Locating possible issues in tests/applications on test failures
  • Fixing test failures Following scrum procedures: 
  • Daily standups, refinement sessions, sprint planning, etc;
